Patient Charter

The Mill Street Practice patient charter for patients who care.

What you can expect from us:

  • To enjoy your company
  • To listen to you and to treat you with respect and courtesy
  • To offer gentle dental care
  • To offer you the most modern treatments at affordable personal fees
  • To explain the cost of your treatment
  • Compliance with all cross-infection requirements and the use of disposable equipment where appropriate
  • To have access to a range of specialist services for your benefit
  • To expect our team to undergo continuing professional development
  • Emergency cover.

What we expect from you:

  • To enjoy your time with our team
  • To keep appointments and inform us in due time (a full working day) if you have to cancel, so that the time can be allocated to other members of our practice community, in particular children and the elderly
  • To pay the full treatment cost of any appointment not cancelled in due time (not applicable to NHS Care)
  • To listen and comply fully with any instructions given
  • To tell a team member when you do not understand anything
  • That you fully understand the cost of treatment
  • That you pay when asked to do so
  • That you treat the team with respect and courtesy
  • That you are more than welcome to recommend your family and friends.

If you feel that you have a complaint:

  • Please raise the problem with any team member
  • If you find that you need to take the matter further, you can arrange to speak to Dr Dewson or pass your concerns to him in writing
  • We aim to fully respond within ten working days when circumstances permit
  • If you or the team find it necessary, we can arrange a meeting to try and resolve any concerns
  • If you still have concerns, you can raise the matter with The General Dental Council or the Care Quality Comisssion.
